Research Paper on Human Activities and Environmental Effects
Various Human Activities and Environmental Effects
It is a well-known fact that human activities are often harmful to the nature, which leads to various negative consequences. It is very important that we understand what can the results of our actions be so that we stopped doing what is wrong and started saving the nature before it’s too late. In this research paper I will describe some of the effects that people’s actions have and will try to see what is waiting for us if we continue acting in the same way.
One of the major consequences of people’s actions is climate change. Around the globe there are such alterations, to which no one is prepared. Glaciers are melting, which can lead to drying up of important rivers, such as Ganges, which serves as a lifeline for India. Besides, melting constantly causes elevation of the sea level. It can eventually lead to drowning of areas that lie low. These areas include such large cities as Bangladesh, New York and London.
Another important problem is depletion of the ozone layer. If we take into account the fact that it protects us from harmful ultraviolet rays, it will become evident that this problem should be solved as soon as possible. One of the major causes of ozone layer depletion is emission of chlorofluorocarbons into the atmosphere. People also cause such problems as air pollution, deforestation and extinction of animal and plant species.
Even each one of the above described problems separately can lead to such negative consequences that can put our life on this planet at risk. The most frightening fact is that today we experience all these problems in complex. If we do not change our attitude to nature, it will result in a situation when after a certain time it will be just impossible to continue living on the Earth.
